The practice of Zen in our tradition has five elements, the Five Mountains of Zen:
- Chanting: to invigorate the body with breath and learn the teachings at the same time
- Dharma Talk: a short talk on the Buddhadharma, or teachings of the Buddha.
- Meditation: to tame the mind
- Vows: to set intention
- Retreat: to intensify our practice for a time
